Flutter Entertainment rallies startups to aid in RG and community initiatives
London-listed operator calls on startups from its partnership programme to help find solutions “to help shape a positive future for society”

Flutter Entertainment has called upon startups to assist in developing solutions that promote responsible gambling and community support.
The call came via the group’s Alpha Hub startup partnership programme, which is a community of startups, academics, investors and corporate partners, with the operator confirming it is seeking early-stage companies to innovate solutions.
To this extent, Flutter has launched two awards in the shape of Flutter Tech4Good and Flutter & RGC: Play Well Challenge.
The Tech4Good award aims to show how technology can be used to address social issues, particularly those that meet the needs of disadvantaged groups and have a clear plan to scale and the ability to measure the impact of their solution.
The scheme will offer a £10,000 grant to three startups along with the chance to participate in a demo day to showcase products to potential investors.
The Play Well challenge is seeking entrepreneurs and startups committed to improving customer experience and addressing responsible gambling challenges that can help progress the industry.
Startups will be able to collaborate with Flutter’s stable of brands via the programme.
Flutter noted the two programmes align with its positive impact plan, which aims to achieve several global sustainability targets in responsible gambling and wider goals by 2030.
These goals include positively impacting communities through sport, play and colleagues’ skills. The other main goal is to help customers ‘Play Well’ by having 75% of active online customers using responsible gambling tools by 2030 and over 50% by 2026.
Conor Lynch, Flutter Entertainment chief information officer, said: “The Flutter Tech4Good Award and Play Well Challenge align our expertise in technology with the ambitious targets set out within our positive impact plan.
“As part of this, we want to utilise our global scale and in-house talent to support the innovative startups that are developing technology that enhances consumer protection and drives positive change in the communities in which we operate.”
Shelley White, Responsible Gambling Council CEO, added: “RGC is proud to collaborate with Flutter on this important programme to minimise gambling-related harms. The Flutter and RGC Play Well Challenge has the ability to drive real change in responsible gambling globally and ultimately create a safer gambling experience for millions of people.”
