Fitzdares joins the Betting and Gaming Council ahead of white paper publication
Bookmaker signs up to trade body as it lends support to enhanced affordability measures without impacting those who “bet responsibly”

Fitzdares has become a member of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) ahead of the upcoming white paper into the Gambling Act 2005 review.
The independent bookmaker joins the trade body as it looks to lend its support to the industry in the public sphere, and be supported by the BGC through the body’s lobbying efforts.
The London-based business model revolves around a bespoke, personal service to usually high-spending customers.
Fitzdares noted that it supports enhanced affordability measures, as reportedly proposed in the white paper.
However, the operator said it recognised that those checks must be targeted to “protect the most vulnerable and not spoil the enjoyment of the vast majority”.
The white paper is due for publication in September, when Parliament returns from its summer recess and a new Prime Minister has been selected by the Conservative Party membership.
Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss are the final two candidates for the Conservative Party leadership and the keys to Number 10.
Fitzdares joins the likes of Flutter Entertainment, Entain, LeoVegas, William Hill, 888 and Gamesys in the list of BGC members.
William Woodhams, Fitzdares CEO, said: “As a medium sized independent and boutique business, we wanted our voice heard.
“The BGC gives us the opportunity to be at the table where the key decisions are being made in UK gaming,” he added.
Earlier this year, Fitzdares secured a licence to launch operations in Ontario as part of its international expansion plans.
