FanDuel reveals Ontario product plans ahead of April 4 launch
US sports betting market leader to rollout betting and igaming offerings in province after securing AGCO license

FanDuel has confirmed it will launch sports betting and igaming offerings to players in Ontario with effect from April 4.
Delivering an update on its Canadian operations, the US market leader has said this launch is subject to successful registration with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and the signing of an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.
The Flutter-owned operator has confirmed a version of its IGT-powered sportsbook with embedded casino and its standalone casino app will operate in the province.
The localized version of the FanDuel casino app and its PAM is powered by California-based igaming supplier GAN and will feature 250 titles.
FanDuel has partnered with Nuvei, which will manage the operator’s payment processing in the province and AML solutions provider, Napier.
FanDuel has also confirmed its “Play Well” responsible gambling strategy, which has been deployed in the US, will be extended into the Canadian market.
FanDuel CEO Amy Howe welcomed the impending launch in Ontario, confirming the dual news of a Canada-facing office opening there.
“We’re so thrilled to open our Canadian office and bring FanDuel’s world-class sportsbook and casino to Canada’s passionate sports fans,” Howe said.
“This is a huge moment for the industry and we look forward to providing Canadians with entertaining and responsible sports experiences.”
FanDuel’s Canadian operations will be overseen by general manager Dale Hooper, who is responsible for developing and implementing FanDuel’s long-term Canadian strategy based on the regulatory and legalization process in each province.
As part of the lead up to FanDuel’s launch in Canada’s most-populous state, the sportsbook operator recently discontinued its daily fantasy sports (DFS) offering to Ontarians, something which proved to be unpopular with players.
