FanDuel hires former Groupon CPO to lead product development
Sarah Butterfass joins operator with experience in mobile platform development and customer acquisition

FanDuel Group has hired former Groupon CPO Sarah Butterfass to lead its product development team.
Butterfass will join the operator on October 19 after two years executing product strategies and overseeing product launches at the online e-commerce marketplace.
Prior to Groupon, Butterfass served as SVP and head of customer experience at online trading platform E*TRADE.
During her time there she led the mobile and advanced trading platform product teams and oversaw development across all verticals.
She also boasts experience in customer loyalty, having overseen acquisition and retention strategies at travel loyalty platform Orbitz Rewards.
FanDuel CEO Matt King said of the hire: “Product innovation and enhancing the customer experience is at the heart of everything we do.
“Sarah’s deep digital experience, passion for building high performing teams, and delivering world-class customer experiences will be incredibly valuable as we lead our industry forward,” he added.
Butterfass will relocate from Chicago to work at the operator’s New York offices.
FanDuel’s parent company Flutter is in the process of reorganizing its US-facing business after acquiring The Stars Group and its North American assets.
FanDuel president Kip Levin took over as head of Fox Bet in August as CEO Robin Chhabra stepped down.
