FanDuel completes Scientific Games sportsbook platform migration
Operator rolls out updated product in West Virginia first with more states to come

FanDuel has completed the migration of its mobile sportsbook onto Scientific Games’ OpenSports platform, with West Virginia the first state to be launched.
Flutter CEO Peter Jackson announced in August that the brand would move off the IGT platform, with its PAM and wallet functions to be powered by the operator’s in-house Paddy Power Betfair platform.
SG Digital CEO Jordan Levin told EGR that the migration went well and with minimal disruption.
“There are complexities and challenges and the slight delays that happen along the way are inevitable in any type of technology transformation project,” Levin said.
“We’ve been partnering with Flutter all along the way, so we have experience with them, especially Paddy Power Betfair,” he added.
Levin said FanDuel would continue to iterate the front-end of its product irrespective of the rest of the technology stack.
FanDuel CEO Matt King said: “We are excited to roll out our next generation sportsbook technology throughout the United States, starting with West Virginia.
“Our global sports betting platform will offer customers an unrivaled betting experience and will cement FanDuel’s place as America’s number one sportsbook,” he added.
Additional states are expected to be rolled out in coming weeks and months.
When asked whether Scientific Games would eventually power Flutter’s Fox Bet product, Levin said he would hesitate to speculate, although the supplier has maintained a very good relationship with The Stars Group (TSG) and powers the Sky Bet product in the UK.
IGT will continue to power FanDuel’s retail betting terminals.
