Romanian operator partners with fintech to deliver omni-channel payment technology solutions

Superbet has penned a strategic partnership with fintech firm OKTO to deliver omni-channel payment technology across its retail and online divisions, EGR can exclusively reveal.
The deal will see the OKTO.WALLET deployed across all of Superbet’s self-service betting terminals throughout it retail network, while the solution will also be extended to the group’s portfolio of electronic gaming machines.
Additionally, Superbet’s online offering will gain access to the OKTO.CASH payments solution to allow customers to deposit into their online account via more than 25,000 points of sale across Romania.
Superbet said the deal with OKTO was key to the group’s digitalisation strategy, which is currently driven by the firm’s new technology division, Happening.
Ciprian Lazăr, Superbet director for Romanian retail and multi-channel as above ops, said: “We are a company with global growth ambitions that pays close attention to its customers’ demands but also to the latest technological developments.
“OKTO offers complementary solutions to Superbet’s digital strategy that are in line with the group’s efforts on responsible gaming and compliance, with all legal provisions imposed by market regulators in countries where our group and its brands are active.”
Simon Dorsen, OKTO chief commercial officer, said the opportunity to expand into the growing Romanian market was an exciting opportunity.
He said: “OKTO is both proud and delighted to be partnering with the Superbet brand, which is among the most technologically advanced and ambitious sports betting operators in Europe.
“Our partnership with Superbet is fully aligned with our mission not only to digitalise the physical payment experience as demanded by modern consumers but also to provide users with the ability to transact across several touchpoints and channels seamlessly, in a secure manner via a unified payment experience,” he added.
