Exclusive: Superbet full-year online revenue soars 79%
Figures seen by EGR reveal strong growth from the Romanian operator’s digital business as EBITDA climbs 69%

Superbet recorded a 78.8% year-on-year rise in online net gaming revenue for the 12 months ended 30 June 2019, EGR can reveal.
According to figures seen by EGR, the Bucharest-headquartered firm also reported a 69.1% increase in EBITDA in the 12-month period, as well as a 67.5% rise in operating profit.
The company declined to share the exact figures.
News of the growth of Superbet’s digital business follows a raft of recent changes to the operator’s senior management team, including the appointment of former Paddy Power Betfair executive Johnny Hartnett as its new CEO.

Johnny Hartnett became CEO of Superbet earlier this year
“Our online revenue growth was a positive reflection on the investment we have made in people, technology and product over the course of the year,” Hartnett told EGR.
“The quality of our people and proposition gives me great confidence that as we scale internationally there is plenty more growth to go after,” he added.
In May, Superbet announced an agreement with Blackstone for the private equity firm to invest £150m in the CEE-focused operator, which it said would aid its international expansion and continued investment in technology.
Last year the company was ranked 49th in the annual EGR Power 50 rankings.
