Exclusive: Sportradar in talks to acquire sportsbook platform provider Optima
Deal is in due diligence phase and could be announced as early as next week, EGR understands

Sportradar is in the final stages of a multi-million pound deal to acquire sports betting platform provider Optima, EGR understands.
The acquisition price would be in the range of £25m, according to one source familiar with the deal, with Optima having LTM EBITDA of approximately £2.5m.
The deal is currently in the due diligence phase and could be announced as early as next week, EGR understands.
Sportradar has been on the hunt for a full sports betting platform for over a year to help with the firm’s US growth plans, with the provider previously having held discussions to acquire SBTech. The deal ultimately fell apart over a disagreement on price.
Sportradar does not currently have its own platform but has existing platform deals it fulfils by supplying its managed trading services in a turnkey platform from other suppliers, including Optima.
In the US, Sportradar has previously agreed a deal for its MTS services to be integrated into a full platform from AMTote, but the partners have yet to announce any customers.
Optima is also understood to have ran a sale process in the past year, albeit previously unsuccessful.
The firm is best known for its partnership with Betfred, which uses its OPTIMAMGS platform in Spain and the US.
A Sportradar spokesperson told EGR the company “does not comment on market speculation”.
