Exclusive: Sisal to open Ceuta office to aid Spanish market launch
Italian operator to join the likes of Betfred and 888 with an office in the autonomous Spanish enclave

Sisal is planning to open a new office in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta to aid its expansion into the Spanish gaming market, EGR can reveal.
The new office on the North African coast is expected to initially host a team of 10 to 15 staffers, focused on roles including marketing, CRM, content management and compliance activities.
Marco Tiso, Sisal’s online gaming BU director, told EGR: “We are evaluating Ceuta to locate our Spanish operations, leveraging all the technological and fiscal advantages available in this region of Spain for gambling operators.”

The Italian gambling giant, which is expected to open the office in early 2020, is set to join operators including 888 and Betfred in establishing a presence in Ceuta which imposes a 10% tax on net profits for companies based in the Spanish enclave.
The tax rate is approximately half of that of mainland Spain, while Ceuta also offers VAT, income tax and wealth tax breaks, as well as corporation tax of 7.5% in the first two years and 12.5% thereafter.
Operators establishing a base in the city must have at least 50% local staff to qualify for the benefits and are required to use local technology suppliers to support local business.
