
Exclusive: Shape Games lands ex-BetWarrior CEO as new CCO
Danish B2B firm appoints former PokerStars director Morten Tonnesen to C-level role


B2B provider Shape Games has appointed former BetWarrior CEO and co-founder Morten Tonnesen as its new chief commercial officer (CCO), EGR can exclusively reveal.
Tonnesen joins the Danish platform provider from BetWarrior, the sports betting operator he founded in May 2018, and where he served as CEO until May 2020.
Prior to launching BetWarrior, Tonnesen spent six years across a variety of roles with PokerStars from 2011 until 2017, culminating in a stint as director of group marketing from April 2014 until January 2017.
In his role as CCO, Tonnesen will be responsible for all commercial operations for Shape Games as the group looks to expand its presence across the US and Europe. He will report into Shape Games CEO Christian Risom.

Additionally, Tonnesen has been appointed to the Shape Games board.
Shape Games recently renewed a long-term agreement with Danske Spil and has launched in the US with casino giant Bally’s in Colorado and Iowa.
The group is also making use of Tonnesen’s previous connections as it confirmed it was working with BetWarrior in Latam.
