
Exclusive: OpenBet to power BandBet’s sports betting and igaming efforts in Brazil
Supplier secures major deal with Bell Ventures operator, which licenses the Band brand from media giant Grupo Bandeirantes


OpenBet will help bring the the BandBet brand to the Brazilian market by proving its full betting and gaming ecosystem to the operator, EGR can exclusively reveal.
OpenBet will provide its PAM, bet builder, managed trading services, geolocation, compliance and igaming products to the firm as part of the deal.
BandBet is run by Bell Ventures, which is currently one of the 93 operators that are being allowed to operator legally during the transition period in Brazil ahead of the launch of the regulated online sports betting and igaming market on 1 January 2025.
Bell Ventures applied for a licence on 19 August, one day before the Brazilian Ministry of Finance closed the initial application window.
The operator is currently live with two domains: BandBet and VivaSorte Bet.
Bell Ventures has licensed the BandBet brand from Grupo Bandeirantes, a Brazilian media conglomerate with a legacy stretching back eight decades.
Grupo Bandeirantes runs a network of free-to-air TV, subscription channels, several radio and digital platforms as well as a print media division and record company in Brazil.
The São Paulo-based business’ programming runs across sports, news and entertainment, with Band TV being the flagship free-to-air television product.
Fellow Brazilian media giant Grupo Globo has partnered with MGM Resorts International to launch a localised BetMGM brand in the market.
The deal between BandBet and OpenBet was supported by Brazilian investment bank BTG Pactual.
