Exclusive: ComeOn Group secures sports betting licence in Ontario
Operator to launch the vertical on its flagship ComeOn! brand to complement its existing online casino offering that has been live since April 2022

ComeOn Group has added sports betting to its offering in the Canadian province of Ontario, EGR can exclusively reveal.
The operator initially rolled out online casino in Ontario via its flagship ComeOn! brand in April 2022, the month the region’s regulated market launched.
The addition of sports betting to its offering in Ontario comes as the business aims to double the revenue derived from its sportsbook division in the coming years.
Those aims were accelerated last month as the group’s in-house sportsbook teams were moved to a new hub in the Austrian city of Graz.
Around 45 staff have relocated to the new space from the sportsbook, tech and risk management teams, with the hub holding capacity for 60 employees in total.
ComeOn Group said its strengths lay in being a multi-product operator, and that it will now bring its “safe and exciting entertainment destination” to Ontario.
Juergen Reutter, ComeOn Group CEO, said bringing sports betting to Canada would help the operator achieve its aim of materially growing the vertical.
He remarked: “We are very excited about the opportunities this new milestone opens up for us.
“As a casino-led operator it represents a key part of our sportsbook strategy to double our business in the coming years.
“Like in any of our other markets, we are striving for a differentiated sportsbook entertainment experience that is powered by our in-house technology.
“Our goal is to deliver top-tier entertainment to our players while fostering safe and innovative gaming experiences,” Reutter added.
ComeOn Group is one of 51 licensed firms in Ontario that operate a combined 83 websites spread across sports betting, casino and poker.
Total handle in Ontario soared 31.7% year on year to C$18.7bn (£10.4bn) for the three months to 30 September, according to the latest data from iGO.
Total revenue for the quarter amounted to C$738m, a significant 35.4% rise against the corresponding period in 2023.
