Exclusive: ComeOn Group adds ex-GVC and bwin exec as head of trading
Nick Jones links up with operator ahead of concerted push in sportsbook strategy

ComeOn Group has named industry veteran Nick Jones as its new head of trading.
Jones joins the operator after a near five-year spell with OpenBet.
He joined the firm as a pre-match team manager in October 2018 before being named head of pre-match trading in December 2022.
Jones was the head bookmaker at bwin.party between March 2013 and August 2016 before he stepped up to become GVC’s head of football following its acquisition of bwin.
His industry CV also includes a more than a decade with Stanleybet across two spells, as well as stints as head trader at Betfred and head of in-play betting at Romanian firm Superbet.
In his role as head of trading, Jones will be responsible for trading and risk strategy for the operator’s new proprietary in-house sportsbook platform.
EGR understands ComeOn Group plans to increase its revenue share derived from sports betting and will be looking to tap into Jones’ experience to help realise this goal.
Jones will be based in Gibraltar as part of his new position.
Touching on Jones’ appointment, ComeOn Group director of sportsbook Jonathan West said: “We are thrilled to have Nick onboard here at ComeOn.
“With our increased focus on our in-house sportsbook platform, it was important that we found someone who knows trading inside out, and Nick is certainly that person.
“With his vast experience, he was the perfect fit to complement the talented team across all our locations and define and execute our risk strategy.
“As we accelerate our investment in our sportsbook strategy and in-house platform, we know that with Nick on board we are in safe hands as we unlock the biggest growth opportunity within sportsbook in the years ahead,” he added.
