Lottery operator names former Google and OpenBet man as new tech chief

Camelot Global has appointed OpenBet’s former SVP of sportsbook and casino operations, Nikos Kryvossidis, as its new chief technology officer.
Kryvossidis will take charge of the lottery operator’s UK technology and product pipeline when he officially joins in April and will report directly to Camelot CEO Nigel Railton.
He joins Camelot from sports betting and gaming supplier OpenBet where he oversaw the firm’s sportsbook and casino technology for three-and-a-half years.
“Camelot Global is well known in the lottery industry for offering its clients the very best strategic advice, managed service solutions and now industry-leading technology following the launch of the Camelot iLottery platform,” Kryvossidis said.
“As Camelot Global grows, it is imperative that we continue to innovate and lead the market, and I look forward to using my experience to help in that process,” he added.
Prior to joining OpenBet Kryvossidis worked for a number of telecommunication and IT companies including Google where he was director of content and commerce partnerships.
“Having someone of Nikos’s experience and reputation is a great asset for Camelot Global. Nikos has great expertise, not only in all technical aspects of our industry but in working for a global organisation,” Railton said.
“These attributes are of particular relevance to Camelot Global as we grow and develop internationally,” Railton added.
News of Kryvossidis’ appointment comes after Camelot announced plans to launch a number of new products this year after it recorded a 6.6% drop in lottery sales for the financial year ended 31 March 2014.
