Ex-Hills and 888 duo launch Tinder-inspired betting app
Adam Kamanson and Adam Wilson aim to target casual sports bettors and millennials with new 'swipe-to-bet' mobile app

Ex-William Hill and 888 employees, Adam Kalmanson and Adam Wilson, have teamed-up to launch a new ‘swipe-to-bet’ mobile sportsbook, inspired by popular dating app Tinder.
Bookee offers customers a selection of small-stake personalised bet suggestions, such as ‘Aguero to score first and City win 2-1’, which customers can swipe left to discard or right to accept.
The product has a maximum stake limit of å£30 per bet and with its new ‘Splitbet’ feature has also taken learnings from transportation app Uber by enabling customers to split the stake with a friend.
Sports betting supplier FSB Technology currently powers all Bookee’s back office, payment processing tools and pricing capabilities for markets including football, tennis, NFL, golf and darts.
Bookee’s additional features include Touch ID, a ‘Stake Slider’ and ‘Build Your Own Acca’, while from a marketing perspective will primarily focus on social channels and affiliation.
“We invented this app because we became frustrated with how stuck in the past parts of the betting industry are,”Kalmanson said.
“Where other betting sites have adapted a 100 year-old infrastructure to retro-fit the smartphone revolution, the Bookee app is specifically designed for mobile use only.
“The popularity of apps like Tinder and Uber have shown that we are in an era of gamification, binary actions, and instant gratification. We are the first people to provide this type of service in the betting world and our strapline is ‘Swipe. Bet. Done’ because it really is that simple.”
Co-founders Kalmanson and Adam Wilson both previously worked in a number of acquisition and affiliate marketing roles at operators including 888 and William Hill.
