Ex-England footballer Jack Wilshere signs for Paddy Power
Fallen star teams up with Flutter-owned brand in spoof video to try and find himself a club

Paddy Power has snapped up Jack Wilshere as the former Arsenal and West Ham midfielder looks to secure himself a new playing role.
In the latest of Paddy Power’s spoof videos, which saw the Irish bookmaker team up with axed Soccer Saturday presenters Matt Le Tissier, Charlie Nicholas and Phil Thompson last season, Wilshere is seeking help to “save his career”.
The presentation is entitled “Paddy Power’s retirement plans for Jack Wilshere” and sees Wilshere, 30, introduced to a number of tongue-in-cheek ideas for retired professionals, including stints on reality TV shows and setting up a TikTok channel.
When the former England midfielder informs them that he is not retired, the presentation team take him through a number of ways to increase his brand profile after being informed that football has left him behind as he has been without a club for the duration of “three Watford managers”.
He is introduced to post-match apology tweets, a brand values package and skills videos.
The video culminates with Wilshere looking into the camera saying: “Jack Wilshere, fit, ready and available for offers,” before adding, “Not Tottenham.”
