Ex-BetVictor head of media unveils Gibraltar-based marketing agency
Carl Hallam to spearhead Vega Gibraltar, a new offshoot of the Manchester-based Vega, which has reported strong growth since launching two years ago

Former BetVictor head Carl Hallam is set to lead a Gibraltar hub for Manchester-based media agency Vega.
Vega Gibraltar, which has been co-founded by Hallam and Vega co-founder Mark Jorgensen, will be based within the igaming hub’s World Trade Centre.
The launch of Vega Gibraltar comes after Jorgensen and four fellow co-founders – Nick James, Ian Lees, Jon Hall and Alexia Harper – unveiled Vega in 2022.
Vega Gibraltar will primarily focus on the igaming industry, with partners including Rank Group and Swiss online brand Pasino, but will also branch out into the insurance and finance sectors.
Heading up the new hub, Hallam counts igaming experience at BetVictor and High 5 Games.
A former eHarmony and Thomas Cook head, Hallam joined BetVictor in January 2017 to work in the operator’s search team before being made head of media in December 2018.
Then, in June 2020, he was appointed head of acquisition for the Rest of World division before departing in April 2021 to join High 5 Games as global head of marketing.
Prior to launching Vega Gibraltar, Hallam had served as chief marketing officer for crypto trading firm Kriptomat.
In his role leading the new agency, Hallam will be joined by British Armed Forces veteran Steven Taylor in running the Gibraltar hub.
Speaking on the launch of Vega Gibraltar, Hallam said: “Having worked with the founders of Vega as a client for nearly 10 years building and growing brands together, I realised this year that I was on the wrong side of the table.
“Gibraltar is my forever home and a fantastic hub for the igaming, finance and insurance industries due to its favourable regulatory environment, strategic location and robust infrastructure.
“As we begin this exciting new journey with Vega Gibraltar, I’m eager to contribute my expertise and passion to more than one brand at a time.”
Jorgensen added: “After two successful years, Vega Gibraltar is a great opportunity to help us continue our growth.
“Having worked with many clients in Gibraltar, we have built a strong presence and experience there and we believe there is great potential to continue to develop our service footprint to a global client base.”
