Ex-Bangladesh international among eight charged under ICC anti-corruption code
Nasir Hossain and former Pune Devils teammates and coaches accused of failing to disclose approaches of corruption and refusing to cooperate in subsequent ICC investigation

Former Bangladesh international Nasir Hossain is among eight players, owners, coaches and managers to be charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for multiple breaches of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) anti-corruption code.
The charges for all eight individuals relate to the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 League and include placing bets on matches, attempting to fix matches and directly or indirectly inviting others to commit corruption.
Offences also include failing to report full details of approaches to fix matches and failing or refusing to cooperate in investigations carried out by the ECB-appointed ICC’s Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO).
Six of the eight individuals: Krishan Kumar Chaudhary, Parag Sanghvi, Azhar Zaidi, Rizwan Javed (Pakistan), Saliya Saman (Sri Lanka) and Sunny Dhillon, have been provisionally suspended. They have 14 days from 19 September to respond to the charges.
Hossain and team manager Shadab Ahamed have not been suspended at the time of writing.
Hossain is specifically accused of failing to disclose a gift worth over $750 (£606), while ex-teammate Saman has been charged with “offering a reward to another participant in exchange for that player engaging in corrupt conduct under the code”.
In a statement, the ICC said the charges “pertain to attempts made to corrupt the matches in the league” and that the “attempts were disrupted”.
The accused were all associated with the Pune Devils when the alleged offences took place. Chaudhary and Sanghvi co-owned the team, Zaidi was a batting coach, Javed, Saman and Hossain were players, while Dhillon was an assistant coach.
The team finished bottom with one win and two losses in the group stage and then bottom of the Super League with five defeats from six games.
Hossain last featured for his national side in 2018 and has made over 100 appearances for Bangladesh across several formats.
