Esports Technologies files new patent for esports betting exchange
Las Vegas-based technology supplier confident of creating “elevated” esports wagering experience for high-volume bettors

Esports Technologies has filed a new patent for an esports betting exchange system.
The application describes a private betting exchange model that is designed to offer operators and high-volume bettors greater liquidity and improved pricing on esports betting, where large bet sizes do not impact market prices.
According to the patent, users will be able to subscribe to certain betting markets, such as esports games, teams and players.
The idea is that these will then be grouped into larger order blocks, leading to better liquidity matching and enhanced pricing for electronic gaming platforms.
Esports Technologies COO Bart Barden said the technology should provide an exciting new way to participate in esports betting.
“The private exchange described in this patent application could substantially elevate the esports wagering experience for high-volume bettors and traders,” said Barden.
“Our team will continue to refine the technology so that we can deliver the most engaging esports betting exchange platform,” he added.
In August 2021, the Las Vegas-headquartered company filed a provisional patent application for a technology that uses AI to generate odds for use in a betting algorithm for esports tournaments.
In June of the same year, another patent was filed covering proprietary livestreaming technology that integrates esports wagering across popular platforms including Twitch, YouTube and Hulu.
Esports Technologies is opening a new European office in Malta on 15 November.
