Nasdaq-listed esports business gains access to markets including UK, Germany and Denmark as brand portfolio swells

Esports Technologies has announced that it has finalised the acquisition of Aspire Global’s B2C business for $75.9m (£56.9m).
The deal, which was first announced in October, will see Malta-based Aspire’s in-house online casino and sportsbook portfolio, including Karamba, Hopa, Giffon Casino, BetTarget, Dansk777 and Generation VIP, transferred to Esports Technologies.
By acquiring these brands, Nasdaq-listed Esports Technologies will gain access to regulated markets including the UK, Germany, Ireland, Malta and Denmark.
It was revealed that Aspire Global’s B2C revenue for the 12 months to the end of September 2021 stood at $78.3m and its EBITDA was $7.9m, a 43% and 30% gain respectively over the same period in the prior year.
During the same period, the B2C business saw turnover of $1.86bn and cash deposits of $183m in cash from 1.25 million customers.
Aaron Speach, CEO, Esports Technologies, said: “Acquiring Aspire Global’s portfolio of innovative B2C brands, access to new markets, and its 1.25 million deposited customers is a strategic leap in our journey to become a world leader in esports wagering.”
Meanwhile, Aspire Global CEO Tsachi Maimon commented: “Esports Technologies has rapidly established itself as one of the foremost innovators in esports wagering. Acquiring the world-class B2C portfolio we’ve built will further expand their reach in this skyrocketing global market.”
In November, Esports Entertainment posted an 86% jump in revenue to $16.4m for its fiscal Q1 2022.
