Entain makes tech shift as new Ladbrokes Coral CTO named
Shailendra Maurya swaps UK-wide tech remit for brand-specific role as operator makes tech leadership change
Entain has altered its technology leadership team with former UK tech director Shailendra Maurya appointed as chief technology officer (CTO) for Ladbrokes Coral.
The London-listed operator has transitioned Maurya into the C-level after 10 months as the company’s UK director of technology.
Maurya originally joined Entain in September 2018 (then GVC) as head of platform delivery before becoming head of digital clients in August 2019.
With the transition to Entain came another job move, as Maurya was named as head of Ladbrokes Coral digital in June 2020.
His return to the Ladbrokes Coral arm of the business will see him take responsibility for the technological developments across both UK-centric brands.
Maurya will continue to be based in London.
The tech veteran has held several senior roles outside of the gambling industry, including spells with payments solutions firm Cerillion Technologies and EPAM Systems.
Maurya said: “[I’m] super excited to be starting a new position as chief technology officer for Ladbrokes Coral at Entain.
“Looking forward to continue working with our amazing teams to provide the best digital and retail experience for our customers,” he added.
Earlier this week, Entain appointed Dominic Grounsell as the FTSE 100 firm’s new chief commercial officer.
