Entain director of operations departs after four years
Liam Casey leaves FTSE 100 firm having previously worked for Betsson Group and PokerStars

Liam Casey has announced his departure from Entain as its director of operations.
Casey has spent the past four years with the operator, first joining in December 2019 as an associate director of marketing.
He moved to his role as director of operations in September 2021 and leaves the igaming industry to return to the private sector, he announced on LinkedIn.
Casey wrote: “Real mixed emotions here. Sad to have left Entain and all the cool people that I’ve worked with there, but also very excited to move back into the private sector – as it’s a different energy and focus.
“I’ve been lucky to work in a leadership role, with the best of best, across a cross section of nearly 28,000 employees. I was also very lucky to be chosen and given the opportunity to build key marketing/operations and other functions from scratch – and hiring the people who could really make a difference.
“My work goals have always included working with people who are smarter and more motivated than me – and Entain has been fantastic.
“There are too many people to mention in a post. The people who I put my trust in and did a great job know who they are.
“To Entain people – thanks. Keep reading the instructions. Keep following the process. Don’t be afraid to break things. Be emotionally honest. Support each other and raise up those who deserve it. Be good to each other,” he concluded.
Casey’s first entered the world of online gaming in 2004 before joining Amaya Software in 2012 where he worked on brands including InterCasino and InterPoker.
Leaving Amaya Software in 2013, Casey moved to Bettson Group for a year as its managing director prior to moving into consultancy, advising several “technology, software and gaming firms” for three years.
Casey also had a near-two-year stint with PokerStars as its head of marketing between July 2017 and April 2019, before taking on a series of consultancy positions upon leaving the firm.
