Everything that happened across the two days of the 2020 awards ceremony
For the very first time, the online gaming industry’s biggest operators gathered virtually last month for the prestigious EGR Operator Awards 2020.
Despite not being able to meet face to face, guests were able to come together online to celebrate the industry’s achievements after a particularly testing last 12 months.
The glitzy and interactive virtual ceremony, hosted by popular presenter of talkSPORT radio station Natalie Sawyer, saw 28 prizes handed out in total, with Gamesys Group snatching the coveted operator of the year award.
The London-listed operator also took home the awards for bingo operator, employer of the year and a highly commended mention for safer gambling operator of the year, while the Betting and Gaming Council scooped the new accolade of standout charitable effort of the year.
Although guests couldn’t meet in person, the virtual event still featured interactive entertainment including a live magician, cocktail-making lessons, photo booth, a treasure hunt, slots tournament and virtual bar, as well as hearing live speeches from representatives of the winning firms.
