DraftKings hires US venture capital specialists to board of directors
Former NFL VP of public affairs Jocelyn Moore and Upward Wealth CEO Valerie Mosley join the sports betting heavyweight

DraftKings has appointed former NFL VP of public affairs Jocelyn Moore to its board of directors alongside Upward Wealth CEO Valerie Mosley.
The double appointment follows NBA legend Michael Jordan in joining the board of the Boston-headquartered betting operator, a move which caused the company’s share price to jump by 16%.
“I am very much looking forward to working closely with both Valerie and Jocelyn as we continue to grow DraftKings,” DraftKings CEO Jason Robins said.
“They each bring a unique skill set that will complement those of our existing members while simultaneously bringing new perspectives and ideas to the table,” he added.
Moore spent four years at the NFL in public affairs, working on its policy and legislative agenda from Washington DC and then New York.
A 15-year veteran of the US senate, Moore also served in a number of legislative roles for the Democratic party between 2000 and 2015.
She is currently a partner at New York-based venture capital firm Ozone X Venture and also serves as the executive-in-residence at Atlanta-based private members club, The Gathering Spot.
Mosley is currently the founder and CEO of wealth-tech platform Upward Wealth and chairman of venture capital firm Valmo Ventures.
Mosley spent 20 years as a partner, SVP and portfolio manager for US investment firm Wellington management.
“DraftKings is a fast growing, powerhouse of a company with a strong, competitive and compassionate management team,” Mosley explained.
“I look forward to helping DraftKings continue to add value to their shareholders and stakeholders.
“I have invested in and advised small private companies and large public ones, and I’m excited to help DraftKings continue its already impressive transition into a smart, strategic and well-managed public company,” she added.
