DraftKings engineering chief relocates to new Dublin hub
Dan Kesack crosses the Atlantic to lead a growing team of engineers as major recruitment drive taps into local tech talent

DraftKings’ head of engineering, Dan Kesack, has relocated from the Boston HQ to the operator’s Dublin technology hub to oversee the expansion of its team of engineers.
The new office was established in November 2019 to exploit the Irish capital’s engineering talent and work more closely with DraftKings’ European supplier partners.
A DraftKings spokesperson told EGR NA three US employees had so far relocated to Dublin to assist in the ongoing recruitment drive and help acclimatize new recruits to “the DraftKings way.”
Up to four local engineers have been hired at the St Stephen’s Green base, with 10 additional engineering roles currently advertised on the DraftKings website.
Kesack said of his move: “I jumped at the opportunity to bootstrap the engineering teams and help instil here the same passion for sports and technology that has made DraftKings Boston such an incredible place to work.”
He has been with the firm for almost five years, having joined as a senior software engineer back in 2015.
The office is led by engineering site lead Jack Murphy who joined DraftKings in October from B2B travel platform Travelport.
Last year DraftKings bought London-based betting supplier SBTech in a three-way tie-up with special purpose acquisition company Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp.
