Dean Shannon appointed GVC Australia CEO
The Neds founder will replace Ladbrokes Australia chief executive Jason Scott

Neds founder Dean Shannon has replaced Ladbrokes Australia chief executive Jason Scott as the CEO of GVC’s Australian business.
Shannon was working as a non-executive director for GVC after the London-listed operator acquired his Neds sports betting business for £52m in November 2018.
Shannon also served a four-year stint between 2013 and 2017 as the CEO of Ladbrokes Australia– another business bought by GVC as part of its £4bn merger with Ladbrokes Coral.

GVC CEO Kenny Alexander said: “Dean is a highly dynamic, experienced leader with the entrepreneurial skills that will drive our Australian business to even greater success in the future.
“I’d also like to put on record my thanks to Jason Scott for the job he has done in establishing the Group as a market leader in Australia,” he added.
In its latest set of financial results, GVC reported proforma net gaming revenue growth of 28% in Australia for H1 2019.
As part of his new role, Shannon will oversee the migration of Ladbrokes Australia onto the Neds platform before it eventually switches to GVC’s proprietary technology stack.
Shannon said: “I am truly excited to be leading GVC’s Australian businesses.
“I believe that in Ladbrokes and Neds we have two of the leading brands in the market and backed by our proprietary technology and highly talented team, we are very well placed for growth.”
