DAZN BET raids Entain once again to hire chief marketing officer
Challenger brand adds Simon Gatenby to lead marketing efforts after recruiting ex-Betdaq MD Shane McLaughlin

DAZN BET has continued its hiring spree with the addition of former Entain and William Hill director Simon Gatenby as chief marketing officer (CMO).
Gatenby joins DAZN BET from Entain where he has served as performance marketing and marketing technology director since June 2019.
Alongside this role, he has also served as CTO for data and CRM at Entain subsidiary Ladbrokes Coral since June 2018.
Prior to joining the London-listed operator, Gatenby spent more than four years with William Hill.
He joined the firm as director of CRM and customer insight in December 2013 from Visa, before being promoted to group director of data.
Gatenby is currently on gardening leave and will join DAZN BET in the near future.
Speaking on his arrival, Gatenby said: “I’m delighted to share that I’m joining DAZN BET as CMO. An amazing opportunity to lead the marketing mission for this new venture, and a chance to work with some amazing talent.
“I’ve had an amazing time at Entain, where I’ve learned loads. I wish them the very best for the future,” he added.
Gatenby becomes the latest to venture down the Entain to DAZN BET talent pipeline after Shane McLaughlin was appointed as MD for UK and Ontario.
Fellow Entain alumni include Shay Segev, Sandeep Tiku, Michael Boylan and Ian Turnbull.
The DAZN BET sportsbook is set to launch in Q3 and will be led by former BoyleSports CEO Mark Kemp.
