
Danske Spil lottery division appoints new CEO
Malene Mølgaard joins after seven years at insurance company Tryg following departure of Pernille Mehl

Danske Lotteri Spil, the lottery division of Danske Spil, has announced the appointment of Malene Mølgaard as its new director after Pernille Mehl, who had been CEO for nearly seven years, stepped down from the role last year.
Mølgaard will join the state-owned operator no later than 1 May from Denmark-based insurance provider Tryg having spent seven years working across the small business sectors as well as leading the group’s commercial strategy and business development.
Prior to her employment at Tryg, Mølgaard worked for a decade at ISS Group, the facility management service based in Copenhagen, where she was responsible for strategy and innovation.
Nikolas Lyhne-Knudsen, CEO of Danske Spil, said of the appointment: “I am very happy to be able to hire such a strong profile as Malene as director of Danske Lotteri Spil.
“During her time at Tryg, Malene has delivered great results in areas such as online digitalisation and is also an experienced and well-liked director with a great drive.”
Mølgaard said of her new role: “I look forward to being part of such an exciting company as Danske Spil, which plays an important role for the Danish cultural and association life. I will humbly approach the task and am proud to be involved in developing some of Denmark’s strongest brands and always ensure that they live up to customers’ rising expectations.”
It has also been announced that Mehl will be joining education portal Clio as its managing director.
