Danske Spil ends SBTech arrangement as Youbet shuts down
CEO Niels Erik Folmann says the Danish sports betting brand has “outplayed its role” with closure confirmed for 12 July

Danske Spil has ended its relationship with DraftKings-owned sports betting supplier SBTech with the operator’s Youbet brand scheduled to close on 12 July, EGR Intel has learned.
The commercial contract between the two parties – first agreed in 2018 for the launch of Youbet – will no longer apply once the brand shuts down for good in four days’ time.
“In our view, Youbet has outplayed its role,” said Danske Spil CEO Niels Erik Folmann. “We don’t want to compete only on big bonuses, aggressive promotions and higher odds to steal market share.”
The former Danish monopoly operator remains committed to the sports betting vertical however and will continue to offer its Oddset brand to consumers in the country.
Oddset is powered by SG Digital with parts of its trading and risk management handled by Sporting Solutions.
DraftKings did not respond to an EGR request for comment.
