
Danske Spil appoints Karsten Fogh Holanng as CEO of licensed games
Current CIO of Danske Spil will lead the state-owned online operator’s online games and sports betting portfolio

Denmark’s Danske Spil has promoted Karsten Fogh Holanng to CEO of ‘Licens Spil’ (licensed games), the company’s sportsbook and online gambling unit.
Fogh Holanng, who is has served as chief information officer (CIO) at the state-owned operator since 2016, will take over the reins as CEO of the Licens Spil division from February 2022.
He will replace Niels Erik Folmann who will leave the business after nine years in the top position to join Danish amusement park operator Tivoli.
Before joining Danske Spil, Fogh Holanng was chief technology officer and corporate vice president of NNIT from 2008 to 2016.
Prior to this, from 2003 to 2008, he worked as research director for Nordic and Benelux at market intelligence firm IDC.
Holanng will lead Danske Spil’s online gambling portfolio in his upcoming role, which includes its Oddset, tips, casino, bingo and poker verticals.

Lyhne-Knudsen thanked Erik Folmann for his efforts in Danske Spil.
