Danish gambling regulator rolls out changes to operators’ technical requirements
Spillemyndigheden implements alterations to self-exclusion regulations and data-reporting duties

The Danish Gaming Authority, Spillemyndigheden, has made updates to its technical and game-reporting requirements for licensed operators in conjunction with a European Commission notification.
New versions of two documents: Gaming Authority’s requirements for reporting game data and Technical requirements – online casino and betting have been implemented by the authority.
The alterations relate to the Spillemyndigheden’s self-exclusionary register, ROFUS. There have been corrections to “references to certain provisions of the executive orders” and the confirmation that some smartphone push notifications can be classified as marketing, which would require a service call to ROFUS before sending the message.
Meanwhile, the Gaming Authority’s requirements for reporting game data document has been given a new title: Gambling Authority’s requirements for reporting game data, with several significant changes inside.
A new game category has been added to be used to report bets on electronically simulated sporting events, which must be implemented by affiliated operators by 1 September. These will be known as Virtual Fast Odds, having previously been labelled as Fixed Betting.
The Games Terminal Identification data element has also been updated and will see retail terminals where bets are purchased from, either from personal-service or self-service terminals, be adorned with an identification number.
Following on from this regulation, all coupons that players receive as a result of placing a bet must be coupled with a unique Games Transaction Identification number.
There has also been changes to allow for greater distinction between single-player and multi-player games when it comes to reporting.
There are several other changes listed in the 124-page updated Gambling Authority’s requirements for reporting game data document, including points on error handling and reporting frequency.
