Curaçao regulator to re-open licence application portal
B2C, B2B2C and B2B companies permitted to submit licence applications from 15 July

The Curaçao Gaming Control Board (CGCB) is to re-open its ‘GCB Portal’, allowing firms to submit licensing applications with the regulator.
The GCB Portal will re-open next week, 15 July, with the regulator accepting applications from B2C, B2B2C and B2B companies and processing them under current the National Ordinance of Offshore Games of Hazard (NOOGH) legislation.
Although the regulator is welcoming new applications, it has said it will give priority to applications submitted on or before the original 30 April deadline.
The CGCB added that no master licences will be renewed after their expiration dates, with the first date scheduled for August 2024 and the last slated for January 2025.
Should Curaçao’s proposed National Ordinance for Games of Chance (LOK) gambling legislation come into effect before either of those dates, the master licence will expire on the day the law is enacted.
A certificate of operation will be offered to any sublicensees that have applications in progress but have not yet been granted a direct licence at the time their associated master licence expires.
This will be a temporary measure that will allow said sublicensees to continue their operations.
The LOK bill, which is set to drastically alter the Dutch Caribbean island’s igaming market, was first submitted to the Curaçao government in December 2023.
The CGCB appointed Cedric Pietersz as its new managing director in February 2024.
The regulator handed out its first licence of the new regime to Rhino Entertainment during the same month.
