Curaçao issues first direct licence of new regime to Rhino Entertainment
Operator secures regulatory approval for its CasinoDays brand as three other companies awarded digital seals

Rhino Entertainment Group has become the first operator to secure a direct licence from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board (CGCB).
The Malta-headquartered firm has attained the licence via White Star BV for its CasinoDays brand in a landmark moment for the Caribbean island’s new regulatory regime.
The operator becomes the first to receive a licence after Curaçao opened its application portal back in September, with operators then able to register from November.
The licence award comes as Curaçao continues to push ahead with its new LOK framework.
The CGCB also confirmed the issuance of three digital seals that will allow the recipients to display a seal of approval from the regulator on their respective portals.
Games & More BV, Geeka Corporation NV and Small House BV will all be able to display the seal after agreeing terms with the regulator.
Ross Parkhill, Rhino Entertainment Group CEO, said: “Being the first to receive this direct licence is not only a privilege but a thrilling endorsement of our commitment to excellence and responsible gaming.
“We wholeheartedly support Curaçao’s enhanced regulatory processes, recognising the added value and prestige it brings to our licence.
“We look forward to fostering an open and communicative relationship with the GCB, ensuring a bright and compliant future for online gaming,” he added.
Cedric Pietersz, GCB MD, explained 2024 would mark a “transformative” period for the island as he touched on the interest from operators in securing a licence.
He said: “Since opening our doors to applications less than 12 weeks ago, the volume of submissions has far exceeded our expectations.
“White Star’s licensure holds a special place in our hearts and history. It signifies a pivotal moment for Curaçao’s evolution into a top-tier gambling jurisdiction with many more licences in process.”
Last year, Parkhill spoke to EGR on his aspirations for the operator having launched in 2020.
