Codere Online shareholders elect new chair and three board members
Operator’s AGM also sees Codere Group CEO Gonzaga Higuero re-appointed as director and will serve as chairman, replacing Patrick Ramsey
Codere Online has announced Gabriel Saenz de Buruaga, Taavi Davies and Claude Noesen will join its board of directors on initial one-year terms.
More than 20 resolutions were passed at the company’s AGM, including the aforementioned additions, as well as Codere Group CEO Gonzaga Higuero being reappointed as a director and elected as chairman of the board.
Higuero was named Codere Group CEO in July 2023 and will replace Patrick Ramsey as chair of Codere Online.
Ramsey, who had served as the operator’s chair since November 2021, is also a board member at Joey Levy’s micro-betting operator, Betr.
Of the new members, Saenz de Buruaga is the founder and co-CEO of advertising agency company Wink Transforming Through Digital and previously served as co-CEO of global communications group Havas Digital.
Davies, a qualified lawyer in both England and California, has an extensive background in swaps, derivatives and synthetic transactions, prime brokerage, stock lending, repo, futures & options, clearing & settlement, trading, execution, custody and illiquid assets.
Finance industry veteran Noesen has worked for several firms including The Bank of Bermuda in Luxembourg where he held the role of head of treasury, Fortis Prime Fund Solutions where he was the firm’s director of sales and relationship management, and ABN AMRO Fund Services where he was the managing director.
In addition, Noesen joins as a member of the audit committee, where Borja Fernandez and Daniel Valdez will continue to serve as chairman and a member, respectively.
On the compliance committee, Mark Dunn was appointed as chairman and Davies will join as a member. Rafael Catalá and Yaiza Rodríguez will continue to serve as members.

Last month, Codere Online reported a 34% jump in revenue as monthly actives soared for the New York-listed firm.
