Checkd Group recruits new poker manager from partypoker
Glenn Townsend hired from Entain-owned brand to push profile of popular Footy Accumulators Poker League

Manchester-based affiliate Checkd Group has hired former partypoker marketing manager Glenn Townsend as its new poker manager.
Townsend will be tasked with delivering Checkd Media’s poker strategy, which centres around the Footy Accumulators-branded poker league.
The Footy Accumulators Poker League is an exclusive partnership with Entain-owned partypoker. It allows players to compete for weekly and monthly leaderboard prizes, with more than £20,000 given away each month.
The league was originally launched back in March 2020 with the help of former footballers Alan Brazil, Ray Parlour and Jamie O’Hara.
Checkd Media MD Alex Beecham said: “Glenn’s track record with partypoker LIVE shows that he has the drive and expertise to maintain the momentum that the Footy Accumulators Poker League has picked up over the past year.
“We intend for poker to continue to be a strong element within our product mix, engaging our communities and driving traffic.”
Townsend spent more than four years with partypoker having joined the business in January 2017 from Dusk Till Dawn Ltd.
He said: “Checkd Media’s work in getting its Footy Accumulators Poker League up, running and as popular as it has become has been noted throughout the poker industry.
“I aim to continue to push forward with the development of what has proven to be a popular product to further engagement with the growing Footy Accumulators community,” he added.
Elsewhere, Checkd Media head of content Will Tyrell has been promoted to head of marketing after two years in the role.
