
Checkd Group names new director of UK media
Oddschanger founder Will Tyrrell earns fourth promotion in as many years as he shifts to head up UK output


Checkd Group has appointed former marketing and commercial head Will Tyrrell as the affiliate’s new director of UK media.
Tyrrell has spent more than five years with Checkd Group following the acquisition of his Oddschanger platform in 2017.
Tyrrell quickly shifted to become head of commercial in August 2018 before becoming head of content in February 2019.
He was then promoted once again to head of marketing in March 2021 where he oversaw a series of marketing campaigns, including the partnership with Sky Bet and ITV7 for this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
In his new role as director of UK media, Tyrrell will be responsible for overseeing the entire UK division as Checkd Media aims to maintain its core presence along with expanding into the US.
Speaking on his appointment, Tyrrell said: “I am very much looking forward to taking on this new role, leading the UK strategy as we aim to continue to innovate in order to serve both our partners and our sports-mad communities with highly engaging content through a wide variety of channels.”

Tyrrell’s appointment follows those of Ben Warn the group’s non-executive chair and Paul Lowery’s appointment as head of sports earlier this year.
