Checkd Group names Ben Warn as chair
Former Rank and Sky Bet senior figure steps up from advisory role to become chair of the affiliate

Checkd Group has appointed industry stalwart Ben Warn as the company’s new non-executive chair to oversee UK operations.
Warn originally joined Checkd Group three years ago as an advisor to the senior management team and will now step into the role of chair.
Warn’s CV includes stints across the operator and supplier side of the industry including a seven-year stint as MD for Perform’s portals and consumer division.
He also spent time with Sky Bet, Blue Square and Rank Group and is credited with a series of significant milestones and launches within the industry.
Warn created the free-to-play Soccer Saturday Super 6 game at Sky Bet and also launched the UK’s first online bingo platform for Mecca Bingo.
Warn also currently serves as a non-executive director at Sportech.
Speaking on his appointment, Warn said: “In this new role, I look forward to accelerating the company’s growth in the UK by overseeing the delivery and scope of an offering, that in conjunction with our partners, will continue to have a major impact on the sports betting industry.”
Jamie Knowlson, Checkd Group founder, said: “Ben’s achievements in the sports betting industry speak for themselves, and his leadership has already proven to be invaluable in the two years he has spent with Checkd Group.
“We believe he will have a major impact in this new role as we continue to make major inroads through the creation of products and services that resonate with our audience,” he added.
Earlier this month, Sky Bet veteran Paul Lowery joined Checkd as its new head of sports.
