Casumo delays sportsbook launch
Operator tells EGR it still “remains very enthusiastic about entering sports” with an update due in Q1 2019

Casumo will not launch its debut sportsbook product until 2019 at the earliest, EGR Intel understands.
The Malta-based casino operator originally announced plans to launch the sportsbook back in March with an expected launch for the World Cup.
However, the operator is currently understood to be improving its platform before the sportsbook product can be integrated.
A Casumo spokesperson told EGR: “We are currently working through our sportsbook roadmap, and we remain very enthusiastic about entering sports. We will be able to give more information in the New Year.
“Our growth in the past six years has necessitated that we continue to develop and improve our bespoke platform, and we are committed to maintaining our stability and performance going forwards.”
Casumo said earlier this year the sportsbook would be built on Casumo’s core beliefs of “simplicity of design and excellence in execution”, while provider Kambi has previously said the product would have a focus on gamification and “social-style betting experiences”.
Back in May the operator also appointed Mark Busuttil as its new CPO to drive the development of new products, including the sportsbook.
