Casumo adds ex-Playtech and BeyondPlay head as CTO
Cristina Turbatu joins refreshed C-suite at operator following near three-year spell with startup BeyondPlay
Casumo has added former Playtech head Cristina Turbatu as its new chief technology officer (CTO) as the firm continues to build its new-look C-suite.
Turbatu joins the online operator from BeyondPlay, where she served as CTO from September 2021 until May 2023.
The former BetVictor staffer spent five years with London-listed Playtech across a series of roles.
She originally joined the company as a senior software developer in June 2016 before being named technical lead in October 2017.
Another promotion in April 2019 saw Turbatu named as an architect before shifting to become head of Playtech’s Innovation Lab and Marketplace in August 2020.
She will be based in Malta as part of her new role.
Turbatu becomes the latest addition to Casumo’s refreshed senior team.
The reshuffle began in March with the appointment of Francesco Postiglione as CEO which was then followed up with former Napoleon Sports & Casino CEO Tim De Borle joining as chief operating officer in April.
Former Rank Interactive and William Hill financial expert Janice Duncan was named as chief financial officer in June.
