Caesars in Illinois sports betting launch
Sportsbook operator makes debut in Prairie State following suspension of in-person registration rules

Caesars Sportsbook has officially launched its mobile sports betting offering in Illinois.
The app runs on Liberty, the technology platform Caesars acquired as part of its $3.7bn purchase of the gambling firm William Hill in April 2021.
The launch follows the suspension of the in-person registration rules for sports betting, under which individuals no longer need to go to a land-based casino in the state to place wagers via computers or mobile phones.
Caesars has a number of land-based casino properties in the Prairie State including Harrah’s Joliet, Harrah’s Metropolis, and Grand Victoria Casino Elgin.
“We’re pleased to launch our best mobile sports wagering product and to reach more sports fans in Illinois,” Caesars Digital co-president Chris Holdren said.
“This is an important step for us as we continue to expand our offering of best-in-class rewards for sports fans across the state,” he added.
As part of the Illinois launch, Caesars has integrated its Prairie State app with the Caesars Rewards program and is offering punters insured bets of up to $1,100.
Caesars Sportsbook is currently live in 22 states and jurisdictions –16 of which are mobile – and operates the largest number of retail sportsbooks across the country.
Caesars joins BetMGM, who also recently launched in Illinois earlier this week.
