Caesars doubles down on Louisiana with new sportsbook and WSOP room
Casino operator to develop retail book and poker room as part of $325m New Orleans casino revamp

Caesars Entertainment has committed to opening a new retail sportsbook and World Series of Poker (WSOP) room in its $325m transformation of the Harrah’s New Orleans casino.
The 5,700 sq ft sportsbook features four betting windows, 12 self-service betting kiosks, as well as a video and audio system which includes a 147-foot video screen.
In addition to seating for 140 patrons, the sportsbook will also feature a multi-display Fan Cave with a private viewing experience for up to 10 people, and a bar to accommodate 28 more sports fans.
The 5,000 sq ft WSOP poker room, the largest in the Pelican State, will feature 20 poker tables and will operate weekly poker tournaments.
Both new facilities will open as part of the relaunch of Harrah’s New Orleans as Caesars New Orleans, scheduled for the Fall.
Caesars Entertainment regional president Dan Real welcomed the confirmed additions of the sportsbook and poker room to the casino property.
“This first-class sportsbook will offer an unmatched game-day experience for Louisiana’s passionate sports fans and our many visitors to the area,” Real said.
“At Caesars, we recognize how important sports, entertainment, and hospitality are to Louisiana, and this sportsbook will showcase our continued commitment to the state and its people,” he added.
The $325m revamp of the Harrah’s New Orleans casino was first announced in July 2021, the same time as Caesars inked a 20-year exclusive naming rights deal with the New Orleans Saints.
Over the last five years, Caesars has contributed more than $30m into community non-profit organizations and services throughout Louisiana, predominantly through the Caesars Foundation.
Caesars Sportsbook has operated in the Pelican State following the commencement of regulated sports betting on January 28.
A total of seven online sportsbooks operate in Louisiana: Barstool, BetRivers, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel, and WynnBet.
