BVGroup director of legal confirms departure after four years
Kim Alcantara calls time on BVGroup career, her longest stint at one company to date

Kim Alcantara has confirmed to LinkedIn she has left BVGroup, ending her four-year stay with the BetVictor parent company as director of legal.
The now former BVGroup director arrived at the company to occupy the role in April 2020.
The following year she assumed additional responsibilities by becoming chair of the firm’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) committee.
Since July 2021, Alcantara has also worked for the General Counsel Sustainability Forum, formerly Lawyers for Net Zero, alongside her daily duties with Gibraltar-headquartered BVGroup.
Alcantara boasts considerable experience, having spent just shy of two-and-a-half years as VP, deputy general counsel at Addison Global Limited between November 2017 and March 2020.
During that stint, the former director advised on the launch of a new Gibraltar-based gambling business, which included corporate structuring advice as well as negotiating key commercial relationships, and served as deputy data protection officer for the firm.
From June 2013 to July 2017, Alcantara was senior associate counsel for NEX Group, formerly ICAP, where her job centred mainly around corporate transactions.
At the time of her arrival, NEX had not yet rebranded, something that changed following Tullett Prebon’s acquisition of ICAP’s hybrid broking business – a deal that saw Alcantara at the forefront as the lead lawyer within the corporate team.
Last month saw Kaizen Gaming-owned operator Betano launch in the UK in partnership with BVGroup, just weeks after the brand penned a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Premier League football club Aston Villa, set to start next season.
Betano are also the official sponsor of both major international football tournaments this summer in Euro 2024 and the Copa América.
At the time, BVGroup chief commercial officer Brent Almeida explained: “We are delighted to have partnered with Kaizen Gaming and launched its Betano brand in the UK market. This is the latest in a long line of successful launches for BVGroup.
“We’ve got some fantastic welcome offers available to new customers, and once signed up, they can expect plenty of innovative features covering all their favourite sports and casino products.”
