BoyleSports donates £10,000 to Bipolar UK following World Grand Prix darts tournament
Dundalk-headquartered operator pledged £20 for every double 20 thrown as part of its title sponsorship during week-long tournament

BoyleSports has donated £10,000 to Bipolar UK following the conclusion of the World Grand Prix darts tournament of which it served as the title sponsor.
As part of its sponsorship agreement, the operator promised to donate £20 for every double 20 thrown during the tournament.
Throughout the week-long showpiece held in Leicester, 365 double 20s were hit, with the final one coming from Mike De Decker’s winning dart over Luke Humphries on Sunday.
With £7,300 having been raised, BoyleSports announced it would bolster the donation by a further £2,700 to bring the total figure to £10,000.
Due to James Wade finishing the World Grand Prix with the most double 20s, with 40 on his run to the quarter-finals, the Scottish star was asked to choose which charity would receive the donation.
The two-time World Grand Prix winner opted for Bipolar UK, a small London-based charity that provides peer support services to help those living with bipolar. Wade is also an ambassador for the charity.
On the donation, BoyleSports head of PR and sponsorship Sharon McHugh said: “We are proud to support Bipolar UK with this £10,000 donation, helping to advance their vital work in supporting individuals affected by the condition.
“Mental health is an issue that touches many lives and we hope this contribution furthers their mission to make a meaningful impact on awareness and support.”
Wade thanked BoyleSports for the financial contribution and commented on the role he played throughout the week.
He said: “This is a fantastic gesture by BoyleSports and on behalf of Bipolar UK, I’d like to thank them for their generosity.
“This donation will help to make a difference with the valuable work they do and the support that they provide to people with bipolar.
“I’d have loved to have won the BoyleSports World Grand Prix last week, but it’s a nice way to remember the tournament that my double 20s have been able to help in this way.”
BoyleSports began the year by renewing its major partnership with Horse Racing Ireland racecourses, which sees the firm sponsor races at Tipperary and Navan, as well as the continuation of sponsoring the Fairyhouse Easter Festival.
