Bodog Asia appoints bwin veteran to marketing role
Torbjorn Wallin to take over as operator's chief digital marketing officer.

Bodog Asia has appointed former bwin SEO chief Torbjorn Wallin as its chief digital marketing officer.
Wallin, who remained with bwin.party after the 2011 merger between bwin and PartyGaming, was most recently in charge of the relaunched PokerRoom.com operation on the Ongame network.
He has been tasked with overseeing the development of the Asian-facing Bodog88 brand, focusing on matters such as CRM, social media and mobile and internet marketing.
Wallin, who previously held SEO and online marketing roles in his six years with bwin, has relocated to Bodog88’s Philippines office. He said of his new role: “Bodog is one of those brands that is always looking to try something new and differentiate from its competitors which mirrors how successful digital marketing works best.
“It’s easy to use ‘tried and tested’ methods but the way to really progress and stand out is by embracing the new and becoming a leader in innovation – Bodog are always looking to do that which made them very attractive to me,” added Wallin.
He arrives just weeks after the operator launched a Vietnam-facing sports betting and casino offering, while last week saw Bodog88 sign an agreement with the FIFA Early Warning System.
Bodog88 managing director Robert Gustafson said: “Digital Marketing is especially important in Asia as there are very few opportunities for direct marketing in the region so the digital strategy is at the forefront of our plans for further growing the brand in Asia.
