
Betway secures South Africa Rugby partnership
Online operator inks three-year agreement to become first betting partner of governing body and Springboks national team


Betway has expanded its marketing presence in South Africa after securing a partnership with South Africa Rugby.
Under the remit of the three-year deal, Betway will become an associate sponsor of the governing body and the Springboks national team.
Betway branding will feature on the Springbok’s shorts, as well as additional branding opportunities on the field and on perimeter hoardings during home Test matches.
Betway and South Africa Rugby will also work together to develop grassroots programmes throughout the country.
The agreement represents South Africa Rugby’s first with a gambling company.
David Rachidi, Betway South Africa marketing manager, said: “Partnering with the world champions marked a momentous stride in the brand’s ever-evolving approach to consumer engagement.
“As a globally acclaimed brand that has found a home in South Africa, such a partnership signifies our commitment to playing a leading role in growing the game of rugby across the board,” he added.
Betway already holds a commercial partnership with Cricket South Africa that was originally signed in 2020, before being expanded and developed in February 2021.
