Bettingmetrics takes aim at Oddschecker with new odds-comparison site
Technology firm to start with in-play football markets as it looks to shake up “broken” odds-comparison industry
Betting technology firm Bettingmetrics has launched a new odds-comparison site it hopes will shake up the “broken” odds-comparison industry.
The alpha version of the site went live last week at bettingmetrics.com/odds, and will initially focus on in-play football betting.
“We want to build the best in-play product because that’s where the industry is heading, and the current offerings are broken,” Bettingmetrics co-founder Martin Grozev told EGR.
“It’s super-annoying when you go on Oddschecker, click a price and by the time you get to the bookmaker the price has gone. We want to have the smallest delay possible.”
He said the technology challenge of an in-play product was significant, but the firm had a “dream-team of ninja developers” making good progress on it.
“Over the next couple of months we want to perfect football in-play, and then we will start adding more sports, more markets and more bookmakers,” Grozev said.
“Customers are already asking for a broader offering because odds comparison is really broken, but it will take time,” the executive added
The company is also working on an artificial intelligence-powered algorithm that will analyse player bets made through the site and identify area of strength and weakness.
“No one is doing this and there’s so much value in user data,” said Grozev. “A lot of the current market is throwing tips a people and trying to get rich quick, but we think the way to more profitable sports betting can be found in your own data.”
Bettingmetric’s main product currently is its bet-tracking tool.
