Better Collective triumphs in EGR’s Power Affiliates 2021 rankings
Copenhagen-based business earns fourth title in as many years as five new entrants make the cut
Better Collective has been crowned the best affiliate in the online gambling industry by EGR’s Power Affiliates rankings 2021.
The performance covers the 12-month operating period to 31 December 2020, in which igaming and sports betting affiliates endured a year like no other due to the disruption caused by Covid-19.
The title marks the fourth consecutive victory for the Copenhagen-based business, which narrowly defeated Malta-headquartered Catena Media.
GiG’s affiliate division climbed nine places this year to finish third, while Gambling.com Group and Raketech rounded off the top five.
There were also five new entrants this year, the highest of which was publicly listed Acroud, another Malta-based affiliate managed by former Catena Media and Enlabs CEO Robert Andersson.
It is vital to make the compiling structure for these annual rankings as impartial and transparent as possible. To that end, we enlisted the help of accountancy and business advisory firm BDO for the first time this year.
BDO has done an excellent job on our Power 50 operator rankings for several years now, and we wanted to replicate that process for the affiliate sector.
Whereas before we relied on a panel of nine independent judges to cast their votes across a series of categories, BDO has this year picked through the financials of each company, where these were available, with a fine-tooth comb.
Seventeen of the 25 companies on this list provided access to their financial data. We hope that even more will opt in next year as collaboration is key.
These financial ratings were then compared against the prior year to ascertain a growth score before being combined with EGR’s judgement using prior knowledge and understanding of the online gambling affiliate space to produce the final rankings, which can be found below.
