Betsson scoops five trophies at EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards
Judges salute operator’s “reputable and philanthropic” social marketing campaign as Kindred Group nets a responsible gambling double

Betsson Group enjoyed a stellar night at this year’s EGR Marketing and Innovation (M&I) Virtual Awards, emerging victorious in five separate categories.
The Stockholm-listed operator triumphed across the board as Betsson Group was awarded gongs for best native app, innovation in mobile and tablet and best social marketing campaign.
Judges described Betsson’s award-winning social marketing campaign as a “reputable and philanthropic endeavour” after the firm volunteered and raised donations to help combat the Covid-19 crisis in Estonia.
“This was not just an example of social marketing, but of a socially responsible campaign,” said one judge.
“This is one of those rare situations when a gaming brand was not just promoting their brand or product, but was truly working for the better of the community,” they added.
Its Betsafe brand was also crowned the winner in the mobile marketing campaign category, while its Racebets horseracing brand received an award for innovation in horseracing.
Elsewhere, Kindred Group took home a coveted double after winning both categories for casino innovation in responsible gambling and sportsbook innovation in responsible gambling.
Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) were among the other big winners on the night, netting trophies for best CRM campaign and also brand of the year, with a whopping judges’ score of 87%.
Australian operator PointsBet also conquered more than one category, taking home the awards for innovation in sports betting and best affiliate marketing campaign.
The EGR M&I Awards celebrates the most innovative and creative operators, affiliates and suppliers in online gaming by recognising those companies which have pushed themselves to bring something new to the industry over the last 12 months.
The virtual ceremony was hosted by multi-award-winning stand-up comedian Matt Richardson on 30 June.
