Betsson nets French sports betting licence
Operator follows up Serbian approval by launching flagship brand in France in tandem with local partner

Betsson has been awarded a sports betting licence in France as it continues to action its European expansion roadmap.
The Betsson brand will launch in France in Q4, with the operator having agreed a joint venture with an unnamed local partner to go live in the market.
Sportradar will power the Betsson sportsbook, with its PAM provided by Omega Systems.
The expansion into France’s sports betting market comes three months after partnering with French firm Group Partouche.
That partnership will see Betsson and Group Partouche work together to develop a joint online casino offering.
The pair are plotting expansion into Belgium as a first port of call, subject to acquiring the correct licences.
Pontus Lindwall, Betsson AB CEO, said: “I’m pleased that Betsson has obtained a license to offer sports betting in France, which is an important gaming market in Europe with great long-term potential for online gaming.
“By combining our knowledge and experience as a global gaming operator with the local expertise of our partner, we can offer an unbeatable customer experience in sports betting in France,” he added.
Sabri Tekaya, Betsson France MD, said: “I am delighted that we have now reached this exciting moment after long and meticulous preparation.
“We have worked closely with local legal partners and the ANJ regulator to meet all requirements and ensure our operations achieve their objectives while addressing the current societal concerns related to gaming.”
Earlier this month, Betsson was awarded a licence in Serbia to launch its Rizk brand in the Balkan market.
