Betsson lands Copa América sports betting sponsorship
Operator continues to make inroads in South America after securing major sponsorship agreement with governing body CONMEBOL

Betsson has agreed a deal to become an official regional sponsor of the upcoming CONMEBOL Copa América tournament this summer in Brazil.
As part of the agreement, Betsson will become the official regional sports betting site of the tournament, which sees South America’s international sides battle it out to be crowned continental champions.
Betsson will be afforded a swathe of exposure opportunities, including branding rights, in-stadia advertising, press backdrops and official banners on the Copa América website and mobile app.
The Stockholm-listed operator will also be the official sponsor of the match line-up graphic for all 28 matches, as well as the sponsor of the player of the week poll.
Additionally, Betsson will be allowed to include some Copa América branding assets on its Colombian brand, Colbet, whenever the nation plays.
Over the past 12 months, Betsson has been aggressively expanding its footprint in Latam, with market penetrations into Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico.
Jesper Svensson, Betsson Operations CEO, said: “The sponsoring of CONMEBOL Copa América 2021 is a further commitment towards our ambitions for this region We will be part of the entire journey to keep fans engaged with compelling, authentic experiences.”
“This is a fantastic opportunity to raise Betsson’s brand awareness to a new level in the markets we’re operating in. We know that CONMEBOL Copa América is a huge event and is very popular in Latam countries, and beyond,” he added.
Juan Emilio Roa, CONMEBOL commercial director, commented: “We see this partnership as a milestone in CONMEBOL Copa América history. It connects football lovers through the sports passion and cheerful experiences with their national teams’ performance in the world’s most traditional national team competition.”
Despite the raging Covid-19 pandemic, Brazil stepped in at the 11th hour to host the event which had been due to take place in Colombia and Argentina last year. Colombia was removed as hosts due to recent anti-government protests while Argentina was stripped of the honour on the back of rising Covid-19 cases.
